A Green And Pleasant Land

Description

This is a picture of the village where I live, taken last year.
The hill behind (on the right) is one of the largest and best preserved Iron Age forts in England, dating from around 300BC. If you look at the horizon just left of the church (mid right) you can see a pimple which is the mound formed by fortifications of the southern corner of the fort. The perimeter of the fort is about a mile and a half I think, so it's quite a large structure.
I wonder a bit whether the composition works - it's an image of two halves (not a good thing) with the bottom half being field. What do you think?

This is a very nicely composed landscape shot and well balanced too. I don't find anything in the photograph that is redundant at all as the field gives a sense of open space and when you trail your eyes up to the hills and village it fills in the open space enough to give a feeling of humble civilisation.
I just love this photo, and it reminds me of good old England :)
