Ice Crown by CoolIndigo Ice Crown by CoolIndigo
This the top of a weathered fence post in my garden, seen early in the morning, a few days ago, with the frost on it. The hard tree rings erode more slowly than the rest of the post so end up being raised, and that just seems to attract the frost.
I just like the textures and patterns :meditate:
Hope you like it, anyway :)

This is sublime, and so refreshing! I can really feel the frost there :D
It's remarkable how the ice forms along the peaks of the little wooden troughs there, it must be because the peaks are more textured so it's easier for the ice crystals to form?
This is just awesome! :)

That's a beauty. I really like the DOF. It gives it greater focus on the inner rings. Great colour, too. Subdued but dramatic. Excellent.

It's fascinating that you picked that one (I assume you chose from the gallery). Of all my photos that seems to have tickled the interest of most people. Which is a bit sad really because it's not one of my personal top choices - so I guess I have no discernment lol.
Onward...
... and thanks again.

:jawdrop: This photo is incredibly amazing, I think. I'm intrigued by how the frost wrapped itself around the post like this and stayed in a pretty close pattern. The shot is so beautiful too, almost unreal in a sense. I love how you captured the look of the frost and the slight, slight dusting in between the rows as well.

It's so beautiful to look at, and the title is so wonderful as well.
